Board Meeting 5-19-14

Meeting called to order 7:05 PM

Attendees:

Old Business:

1. Treasurer's Report - Approved
2. Fine Schedule/CC&R Revisions:  Committee will review and make revision recommendations and will meet with attorney
3. New attorney must be selected:  HOA attorney has been selected.
4. CC&R Violations: Inspections in progress, violations will be identified & notified.
5. Security Camera for front entrance to record/capture traffic in & out: $8,000-$9,500 (with license plate reader) + $125/month for internet service. The Board voted to table this venture, thereby putting it on indefinite hold.
6. Front entry wall has a split/crack caused by oak tree roots. The wall is stable and not deemed to be at risk of falling  Sandra to determine rules/requirements for tree removal.
7. Announcement Board: Supplier and Sign Type/Style selected, Sign selection/purchase pending
8. Landscape Committee: Front lighting and timers for common area  work in progress. Board voted to reimburse Sam Seagro for the lights and timer he purchased for common area.
9. Yard of the Month (Rose Stavely): Rose agreed to continue to head this effort.
10. Ladies Club (Diane Johnson, chairperson): Meets monthly the 3^rd Wednesday 6:30 PM
11. Storage Unit for HOA property and records: 5'x5'x9' for $35/month
12. Special Events Committee  First meeting May 29, 7:00 pm at Diane's house ...Recruit Members to help with activities including: Welcome new homeowners, Present a plant if/when a death in the family, Yard Sales, Annual Picnic (November), Block Party (May), Holiday Party/Luminaries December
13. Yard Sale (Held Saturday, May 17^th) was a great success. Very good turnout. 18 homes participated.
14. Signature for new bank account: New rule-must have prior board signer accompany new signer. Sandra will get with Lori or Byron to finalize this.

New Business:

1. Newsletter: Don Kress has volunteered to edit/produce newsletter. First issue will be mailed to all residents, subsequent issues will be e-mailed when possible.
2. Membership to Community Associations Institute was considered and discussed and ultimately decided most resources available free and a membership purchase was deemed unnecessary.
3. HOA Mission Statement:  board agreed and accepted Sandra's proposal..."The mission of the Tuscany Homeowners Association is: To institute and enforce rules, regulations and legal restrictions designed to ensure that the Tuscany neighborhood is a safe, attractive and desirable community where property values and resident satisfaction are maximized."

Next Board Meeting:  Monday, June 23, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Sandra Wilt's home (1630 Victoria Way). All homeowners are welcome to attend
